French manicure makers are opening their first manicure salon in their native country, opening the first one in the French-language media city of Nice.
Maniac Salon, which opened its doors this week in Nice, will offer manicures by local artist Pierre Lebel.
Lebel has been creating mani-themed nail designs for over 20 years and he said he had to “break into the game” after losing his job at a nail salon.
“I think I had to break into the market, because I was afraid I was going to disappear,” he told the French news agency AFP.
“I felt like I was not getting enough work.”
Now I am very happy, I have my own salon and I can do my manicures with a bit more confidence.
“The salon will have a range of manicure styles from simple designs to more complex designs, as well as a full-service barbershop, and Lebel said it was a chance for French people to get the manicure they love, without having to leave home.”
People are used to the idea of buying nail polish in the US or Australia, but here we will have everything,” he said.”
For us, this is a chance to create our own style, not only for ourselves, but for all the people who come to us.
